Olivia has a Bachelor of Creativity majoring in Commercial Dance at Te Auaha Institute of Creativity in Wellington, New Zealand. She is described as a storyteller, powerhouse performer, having a great work ethic,

attention to detail, athletic ability and has performance quality . 

Future ambtions 

After graduating at the end of 2020 Olivia aims to  become a full time professional dancer/performer and teacher. Her ulimate goal is to gain contracts for theme parks or resorts as a character/parade performer/stage dancer for agencies such as Disneyland or Universal Studios, or Disney Broadway Musicals majoring as a dancer and actor.  Olivia is also interested in acting, dancing or modelling in TV commercials and in the beauty and fitness industry.

Artist Statement

Olivia is a dancer, performer, model, actor, singer, and choreographer. She loves to convey 

‘grit and grace’ in her performances. She has a great look, is powerful and is athletically 

built. She has a great attitude and puts a lot of energy into projects and shows. She is extremely motivated, great attention to detail, and a willingness to grow and improve. This year Olivia will complete her Bachelor of Creativity majoring in commercial dance at Te Auaha Institute of Creativity in Wellington, New Zealand. She specialises in thrashy jazz, urban\funk hip-hop, stylized commercial and lyrical dance styles. She aspires to inspire others to dream big and believe again in the face of challenges. To achieve this Olivia is considering a range of options including being. 

 

  • A character look alike, theatrical performer and or vocalist for Disneyland Resort 

  • ·In a Disney Broadway Musical 

  • ·A TV commercial actress\dancer 

  • ·A model for a fitness\ beauty campaign.

Artist Biography

Olivia has grown up with a passion for performance since a young age. She loved watching , classic dance films such as Honey (Jessica Alba) , Step up, and Stomp the yard. She loved the films so much she taught herself and her friends the dances. At the age of 13 she started learning hip-hop at Pump Dance Studios. After a few years she joined ‘crews’ and competed locally, regionally and nationally.

After graduating at Newlands College she took a gap year which she describes as her ‘anchor’ year where she discovered herself.

For the next three years she joined the internship programme at Arise Church majoring in kids and youth ministry. She also joined the adults dance team and performed at local, regional and national events. She also coordinated free dance classes for all levels of dance ability of the ages of 7-15years old. These classes turned into a team of teenagers called ‘Boost Dance’ where they would perform local, regional and national events, such as kids conferences, mother’s day, father’s day and Christmas. She would also provide one on one classes for kids who needed help. This helped apply her creativity to choreography.

Meantime she was an assistant for the adults Arise dance team help coordinating the logistics for performances. In the final year of her internship she established a dance business called ‘LDC’ Liv’s Dance Company. To provide fun, affordable dance classes for children. Provided classes during the terms break and choreographed some dances which the children performed at some free community Christmas events.

 

In 2018 she auditioned at Te Auaha Institute of Creativity to secure a place in the 2018 intake for a Bachelor of Creativity majoring in commercial dance. Her vison was to become a more versatile dancer and secure technical dance training.

Since joining Te Auaha Institute of Creativity Olivia has had professional training in jazz, ballet, tap ,hip-hop, contemporary, commercial dance, lyrical, partner dancing, circus, singing and dance acting.
